Dr. Nikki Waters, PT, DPT, CMTPT, is a Virginia native whose passion for physical therapy began after undergoing two ACL reconstructions in high school. Growing up in Manassas, VA, she was a member of the soccer and swim teams at Osbourn High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University (Go Dukes!) in 2012 before completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Marymount University in 2017.

Nikki is a full-time physical therapist at ProFlex’s Aquia office, specializing in outpatient orthopedics. Since graduating, she has earned certification in trigger point dry needling, trained in the Graston Technique, and completed courses in headache treatment and running analysis. She is passionate about helping patients regain independence and reduce pain, with a special interest in post-surgical rehabilitation and balance training.

With a hands-on, individualized approach, Nikki creates engaging and effective treatment sessions tailored to each patient’s goals. She brings a blend of clinical expertise, enthusiasm, and a fun atmosphere to the clinic, believing that honesty, teamwork, and commitment are key to success.

Outside of work, Nikki loves spending time with her husband, two children, and dog. She enjoys being outdoors, is an avid fan of true crime shows and reality TV, and during football season, you can find her cheering on the Dallas Cowboys!

Thomas, a native of Chantilly, Virginia, discovered his passion for physical therapy through an internship during his high-school anatomy class. Spending 25 hours observing in an outpatient orthopedic clinic left a lasting impression on him. It wasn’t until nine years later, in 2017, that Thomas fulfilled his dream, graduating from VCU’s physical therapy program and stepping into the role of a licensed physical therapist.

His journey through graduate school was fueled not only by his dedication to physical therapy but also by his love for comparative anatomy and evolutionary biology. Thomas found immense joy in exploring the intersections of these sciences with his field of study, further enriching his understanding of the human body.

Currently serving as a full-time physical therapist at our Aquia location in Stafford, VA, Thomas extends his services beyond typical outpatient orthopedic care. He has broadened his skill set by pursuing continuing education courses in vestibular rehabilitation and functional dry needling, offering both specialized services at his office.

When Thomas is not playing with his golden doodles Ollie and Winnie or spending quality time with his wife, he enjoys reading, writing, and working on whatever house projects his wife dreams up for him (Maritza is also a therapist here at ProFlex, and he would like you to please give her grief for this).
